The Parochial Church Council
The Parochial Church Council, or PCC, is an executive committee of the Parish with powers and duties defined by certain Acts of Parliament. Its main function is to work with the Vicar on all matters of general concern and importance in the Parish including mission, finance, pastoral care, social issues and evangelism.
Members comprise the Clergy, Church Wardens, representatives of the Lay Readers and Deanery Synod and fifteen lay members who are elected each year at the Annual Parochial Church meeting.
Bimonthly meetings are held in the Church Room commencing with prayer at 7.45pm. Three away half days are held during the year to discuss important topics relating to the Church and its mission.
The Standing Committee (Clergy, Wardens, PCC Secretary and Treasurer) meets between PCC meetings to set the agenda for the next meeting. The Committee welcomes any suggestions for agenda items from members of the congregation. Please give these to a member of the Clergy or to the PCC Secretary t: (0117) 908 9867 at least two weeks before the next meeting.
