A boat called Christ Church
Linda Cruse, daughter of Doreen and Stan has been working in Phuket, Thailand since last January as an international aid worker on behalf of the Princes Trust. This last year has been very traumatic for her and for the local people who lost their families, homes and employment when the tsunami hit.
Linda has been involved in buying and repairing fishing boats to help the local fishermen get started again. Linda has also been involved in getting many cottage industries started to help those families who had no hope of finding work.
Thanks to the financial help of some members of Christ Church, a fisherman’s boat in Phuket is now seaworthy and carries the name of Christ Church Downend.
