Holly Fayre raises £2000 for Mission Charities!
The Holly Fayre at Christ Church, Downend, raised a staggering £1930 for mission charities. A further £70 in donations is expected this week. Despite the recession, people are still opening their pockets to help those in need.
Fine weather led to a great turnout at North Street Hall with many families taking the chance to buy gifts from the wide range of food and craft stalls. For the younger children there was also the opportunity to visit Santa in his grotto.
The money raised, which exceeded last years total by over £500, will be distributed by Christ Church through their Mission Partner programme to a range of charities including those concerned with Children's work, Evangelism, Debt Counselling and Homelessness.
