Welcome to Christ Church Downend, 'building loving relationships'

Ways of Belonging:

Baptism

Baptism has always been the mark of belonging to God’s family and we welcome enquiries for Christian baptism. Christenings are held during the 10.30 morning service every other month. A simple act of thanksgiving for the birth of a child may be a suitable alternative for parents who are not yet ready to make the declarations of personal Christian faith that baptism involves.

Calendar of Fun

There is a full programme of social events listed in the ‘Calendar of Fun’ which provide a great opportunity to build friendships at things such as quiz nights, barn dances, football matches, or a teddy bears picnic. The home groups in the parish also organise all sorts of events to suit those who belong to the group and their families.

The Fellowship

Many older members of our church really appreciate ‘The Fellowship’ that meets on the second Tuesday of each month in North Street Hall. An array of speakers add stimulating input to a very friendly series of evenings.

One of the great privileges of belonging to the church is that there is a sense of give and take. We hope that everyone will feel increasingly supported in the demands of daily living, whether it be in the world of commerce, education, industry or family life.

You're really special

We believe that everyone has something special to bring to the life of the church and we try to ensure that every member has the opportunity to use their gifts and whatever time they can give for the good of others.
