Childrens Programme at Christ Church
Children are as much part of the Christ Church community as anyone – they, along with everyone else, are the church of today! The dedicated team of children’s leaders put so much energy into this rewarding ministry under the leadership of Tracie Jenkins, our Children’s Worker. We have strong mutual links with the Primary schools of the parish, especially Christ Church Infant and Junior, through the governors’ commitment to serve and the regular leading of collective worship, the Bible Story Club, church visits etc. The Uniformed Organisations also come to church for regular Parade Services.
As well as monthly social events for children, and the annual Holiday Club, Christ Church invites all to its variety of groups:
sundays (during the 10.30am service)
Creche: under 3s in the church room.
Sparklers: 3-5s in Christ Church Infant School.

Youth at Christ Church
Leaders are trying to listen to the issues young people are facing and are committed to working together in an environment of trust and friendship. It is great to see many of the youth becoming involved in the worshiping life of the church and taking initiative in their schools on issues such as global warming and social justice. An increasing number are getting fired up by going on Christian Youth Camps over the summer and others are growing in their faith and leadership development through long-term discipleship support.
There are three separate weekly youth activities during term time:
faith@Quakers Road
Thursday evenings from 7.30pm at the Church Centre, Quakers Road. For 11-14s with plenty of energetic activity, enthusiastic debate and quiet eating.
faith@Christ Church
Is for young people aged 11+ that meets during the 10.30am service at Christ Church. Creating ways to nurture faith, to pray and to stimulate thought about the big issues of life.
faith+
Is for our older teenagers (14+) and it meets on alternate Thursday evenings from 7.45-9.15pm taking a deeper look at areas of life that are challenging, confusing and exciting for young Christians today. Occasional social events help to develop friendships and build a sense of belonging.
